چکیده

There exist a large number of computational resources in the domain of scientific and engineering computation. They are distributed, heterogeneous and often too restricted in computability for oneself to satisfy the requirement of modern scientific problems. To address this challenge, this paper proposes a component-based architecture for managing and accessing legacy applications on the computational grid. It automatically schedules legacies with domain expertise, and coordinates them to serve large-scale scientific computation. A prototype has been implemented to evaluate the architecture.

Coordinating Access to Computation and Data in Distributed Systems

Distributed computing has become a complex ecosystem of protocols and services for managing computation and data. Distributed applications are becoming complex as well. Users, particularly in scientific fields, wish to deploy large numbers of applications with complex dependencies and a large appetite for both computation and data. How may such systems and applications be brought together? I pr...

Grids and Clouds: Making Workflow Applications Work in Heterogeneous Distributed Environments

Scientific workflows are frequently being used to model complex phenomena, to analyze instrumental data, to tie together information from distributed sources, and to pursue other scientific endeavors. Out of necessity, these complex applications need to execute in distributed environments and make use of a number of heterogeneous resources. In this paper we describe some of these applications a...

On the construction of decentralised service-oriented orchestration systems

Modern science relies on workflow technology to capture, process, and analyse data obtained from scientific instruments. Scientific workflows are precise descriptions of experiments in which multiple computational tasks are coordinated based on the dataflows between them. Orchestrating scientific workflows presents a significant research challenge: they are typically executed in a manner such t...

A New Job Scheduling in Data Grid Environment Based on Data and Computational Resource Availability

Data Grid is an infrastructure that controls huge amount of data files, and provides intensive computational resources across geographically distributed collaboration. The heterogeneity and geographic dispersion of grid resources and applications place some complex problems such as job scheduling. Most existing scheduling algorithms in Grids only focus on one kind of Grid jobs which can be data...

Adaptive Protection Based on Intelligent Distribution Networks with the Help of Network Factorization in the Presence of Distributed Generation Resources

Factorizing a system is one of the best ways to make a system intelligent. Factorizing the protection system, providing the right connecting agents, and transmitting the information faster and more reliably can improve the performance of a protection system and maintain system reliability against distributed generation resources. This study presents a new method for coordinating network protect...
